3 films vie for Scottish BAFTA
EDINBURGH -- Peter Mullan's "Neds," Morag McKinnon's "Donkeys" and David Mackenzie's "SenseInch happen to be nominated for the best film in the BAFTA Scotland Honours. Mullan, McKinnon and Mackenzie will also be within the running for the best director, while Mullan is nominated for the best author alongside Colin McLaren for "Donkeys" and David Kane for that BBC1 drama "Area of Bloodstream." Conor McCarron, the youthful lead in "Neds," is competing for top film actor prize against James Cosmo and John Pettifer for "Donkeys." "Area of Bloodstream" rules the television acting nominations, with nods for that drama's three co-stars, Peter Capaldi, Jayd Manley and Ford Kiernan. Despite the fact that, the show skipped on a nomination for the best TV drama, with nods likely to "Situation Histories," "Garrow's Law" and "Hattie." Nominees for the best single documentary visited Mark Cousins for "The Very First Movie," Sue Bourne for "Jig" and Charlie Russell for "Terry Pratchet: Selecting to Die."
